Because we are registering new students and filling classes daily, our schedule and availability often changes. For this reason we do not publish our schedule. Please click this link to review our levels and decide which class you feel most accurately describes your child. Once you have determined which level you feel is appropriate, please call our office at (317) 773-7399 to find out what time that class is available. If you have further questions about our program, please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions. We look forward to hearing from you and working with your child!
Registration
Stony
Creek Swim Center offers an open and continuous enrollment
system. You can register
at any time and withdraw at any time. This means a student stays in a
class until you withdraw, change their lesson
day or
time, or they are promoted to the next level. Please call us at
(317) 773-7399 to register your child today!
After calling and registering your child for swimming lessons, please print and fill out the Stony Creek Swim Center 2012 Registration Form. Please bring this with you on the first day of lessons and turn it in at the office.
Payment Options
Two options of payment are accepted: A. Automatic Checking Withdrawal (ACH)
Stony Creek Swim Center will automatically withdraw tuition from your checking or savings account on the 15th of the month for the following month's tuition (i.e. automatic charge taken out on December 15th for the month of January). A voided check is required with this option. If an automatic withdrawal is declined by the bank and tuition is not collected by the 1st of the month, there will be a $10 late fee.
Please print the Direct Debit Authorization Form and bring it to the office along with a voided check. We will process your ACH and payments will begin on the next automatic withdrawal date.
B. Quarterly Payment Pay for three months at the time of registration (i.e.
Oct/Nov/Dec), using cash, check, or credit card. The cost for one
student for three months is $195 and is due by the 15th of the third
month (i.e. by Dec 15th). There will be a $10 late fee if payment is not received by the 15th of the third month. If we do not receive payment by the last class of the third
month then your swimmer will be automatically withdrawn from the class.
*There will be a $10 processing fee for all returned checks.
Policies
Minimum Number of Lessons We require that students complete a minimum of eight lessons in our program. Our curriculum is designed in a progressive manner. In order for students to receive the greatest benefits from our program, we feel that they need to remain in lessons consistently until they are proficient swimmers. If a student only takes one month of lessons, that is equal to just two hours of instruction. A lifesaving skill, such as swimming, typically takes longer to master and we want to be confident that every swimmer who exits our program is safe around water.
Changing Lesson Day or Time We will gladly accommodate
class change requests as long as availability exists. Changes can be done over the
phone or in person.
Cancellations
When you wish to withdraw from our program, you must notify us by filling out a Written Cancellation Form, which is available in the office. This form must be turned in to the office by the 10th of the month prior (i.e. Written Cancellation Form is due by December 10th if you wish to withdraw for January). Failure to cancel lessons by the 10th of the month prior will result in an automatic withdrawal from the bank account on file (for the ACH payment option) on the 15th of the month for the following month's tuition. Quarterly Payment customers must turn in the Written Cancellation Form by the 10th of the third month (i.e. Paid for Jan/Feb/Mar- withdrawal notification due by March 15th) We can only accept cancellations that are submitted in writing to our office. We cannot accept cancellations over the phone or through email. No matter which method of payment you chose when you registered for classes, a Written Cancellation Form must be filled out when you want to withdraw your child from lessons. This is not only so that further charges are not put on your account, but also as a courtesy to other clients who may be interested in the class your child is enrolled in.
Refunds
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we are not able to offer credits or refunds. Once a class has commenced,
you are registered until you withdraw, regardless of attendance. We will gladly try to accommodate another class until the end of the month, as long as vacancy exists. See the paragraph below regarding medical conditions.
Medical Withdrawals
For medical
conditions validated by a physician’s statement, a credit will be
issued for the pro-rated amount based on the date Stony Creek Swim
Center receives the written statement (retroactive requests cannot
be granted, as it eliminates our opportunity to fill the class
spot).
Make-Up Lessons In an effort to maintain consistency for students, we do not offer make-ups within regular classes. Special make-ups classes are offered twice a month, one Friday evening from 4:00-6:30 and one Saturday from 12:00-3:00. To qualify for a make-up lesson, you must notify us prior to the
absence, even if it is shortly before class. There are a few ways that you can notify us of a swimmer's absence. The Student Absence Notification form can be filled out and submitted online, you may call the office and speak with one of our staff, or you may notify us when you come in for a lesson prior to the date of absence. If you have a pre-arranged absence, please fill out this form as soon as possible. If your child is sick or you will miss a class on short notice, please fill out the form, call our office at (317) 773-7399, or send an email to info@stonycreekswimcenter.com as soon as possible, so that we can have record of the absence.
Make-up Policies & Procedures
You must report an absence prior to being gone in order to receive a make-up.
Only one make-up is allowed per month per student.
Make-up must be
scheduled within four weeks of the missed lesson or it will be
forfeited.
Missed make-up classes cannot be rescheduled unless we are notified in advance.
During the spring months (March, April and May), make-up lessons
are not readily available. Please make every effort to attend your
normal lesson.
Keep in mind, make-up lessons are NOT GUARANTEED.
Safety Notice
Stony Creek Swim Center is
NOT a drop off program and is NOT equipped to provide before or after class
supervision.For the safety of
your child, parents are required to
stay in the facility during all classes.
Facility Closures and Inclement Weather
In the event that a lesson needs to be canceled due to pool conditions, mechanical issues, or inclement weather, we will make every
effort to contact you prior to your lesson time. Credits or refunds will not be
given for pool closures, however, you will be allowed a make-up for the
lesson effected. We will leave pertinent information on our
voicemail and send out an email announcing the closure. Cancellations will also be announced on our Facebook page. More information on holiday closures can be found in the Facility Closure section.
Sanitation Policy
Fecal
contamination
in or around a pool poses a serious
health risk to all using the facility. When an accident occurs, we are
forced to shut down operations for an extended period of time to
properly clean and sanitize our facility. We are trying to reduce the
spread of disease and inconvenience to swimmers whose lessons are
canceled. For the health and safety of our swimmers and instructors,
please read and follow these guidelines carefully:
Children who are under 3 years old OR are not 100% potty-trained must
wear
a reusable swim diaper (i.e. plastic swim diapers) AND a disposable
swim diaper underneath their swim suits.
Our definition of potty-trained is: A child who
has
the capacity to know when they need to use the restroom and will ask
to
be let out of the pool to go to the bathroom. If your child is not
quite there, please put them in a reusable swim diaper.
Parents may not bring a child to swim class if
the
child is experiencing intestinal distress.
If a child has an accident in the pool, they
will
not be allowed to return that day. Their swim diaper must be
properly
disinfected with bacteria-killing disinfectants.
In the event that a child has an accident, is potty-trained,
did
not ask to use the restroom, and is not wearing a swim
diaper, there will be a $250 fine.
Parents are expected to dispose of soiled swim
diapers in the proper containers. They are also expected to assist
in cleaning
leakage
from contaminated areas, i.e. decks, changing tables, showers,
toilets,
dressing room, etc. The SCSC staff will follow up by cleaning and
disinfecting the entire pool area and pool.
In the event a child has an accident while
wearing a
swim diaper under their swim suit, they will be required to wear
two
plastic swim diapers over their suit in the future.
If a potty-trained child has an accident and
fails
to communicate the need to use the restroom, they will be required
to
wear a swim diaper under their swim suit until suitable
communication is
established. If a parent has taken all the necessary
precautions
and an accident occurs, we will not levy the fine.
If your child is prone to experiencing a gag
reflex,
we request that they not eat two hours prior to participation
in
swim lessons and that parents exercise caution with liquids before
class.
If a student vomits in the pool, they
may
not return to class that same day.
Facility Closures
We try to limit facility closures, because we know that it is best for the students to have consistency and that scheduling make-ups can be difficult. However, there are times when things come up and we are required to close. If we have to close unexpectedly, we will make every effort to contact all parents individually, by email or phone. Weather closings will be announced on our voice mail, website, and Facebook page.
We are closed for the following holidays:
Hamilton County Spring Break (first full week of April), Memorial Day
weekend (no class on Saturday or Monday), 4th of July, Labor Day weekend
(no class on Saturday or Monday), Halloween evening (no classes after 4:00pm), Thanksgiving (no class on Wednesday or Thursday), and
at least one week for Christmas. Monthly enrollment rates are based on
an average of four weeks (or four lessons) per month. Some months will
have three lessons and other months will have five lessons. The $65
remains constant and averages out over the one year period. By keeping your child enrolled year-round, the average number of lessons per month is four.
